An eSIM is a digital SIM built into compatible devices. It lets you add a mobile data plan without inserting or replacing a physical SIM card.
How will I receive my eSIM?
After checkout, you will receive the installation details by email. Depending on the plan and device, this may include a QR code, manual activation details, or setup instructions.
How do I know whether my phone supports eSIM?
Check the eSIMConnect compatibility list or open your phone settings and look for an option such as “Add eSIM”, “Add Cellular Plan” or “Add Mobile Plan”. Compatibility can vary by model, country of purchase and carrier version.
Do I need Wi-Fi to install it?
Yes. You need a stable internet connection to install the eSIM profile. We recommend using Wi-Fi during installation. After the eSIM is installed and activated, it connects through the supported local mobile network at your destination.
Does my phone need to be carrier unlocked?
Yes. Your device must be carrier unlocked to use a travel eSIM. If your phone is locked to one mobile operator, it may block the installation or use of another eSIM profile.
Can I use hotspot or tethering?
Hotspot or tethering may vary by destination, plan type, device and local network. Check the plan details before purchase or contact support if you need hotspot specifically.
When should I install and activate my eSIM?
We recommend installing the eSIM before your trip while connected to stable Wi-Fi. Do not enable mobile data for the eSIM until you are ready to use it at your destination, unless your plan instructions say otherwise.
When does my plan validity begin?
Plan validity usually starts when the eSIM is activated or first connects to a supported network, depending on the specific plan. Some plans must be activated within a limited period after purchase, so always follow the instructions sent with your order.
Can I keep my regular SIM and phone number?
Yes. On dual-SIM devices, you can keep your regular SIM active for calls and messages while using the eSIM for mobile data. Be careful with roaming settings on your main SIM, as your regular carrier may charge roaming fees.
What should I do if the eSIM does not connect?
Make sure the eSIM is selected for mobile data, data roaming is enabled for the eSIM line if required, and any APN instructions included with your order have been applied. Then restart your phone. If it still does not connect, contact support with your order number, destination and device model.
